"Fun facts" are pretty much anything that can be considered uncommon knowledge unncessary concerning the major storyline of the plot. It can also be extra details about the series, the creator, names, etc! For example, all of the senshi's names are related to their element: i.e. Usagi's name translates to "Rabbit of the Moon".   • The original Sailor Moon manga is no longer in print.
  • Sailor Moon was not intended for children - it was made for junior high girls, and was undoubtedly going to attract older men (because of their fukus)
  • In the Japanese Anime, Usagi had failed an English test. In America, it was changed to a math test.
  • In the anime, Luna was originally a teenager like Usagi, but had been transformed into a nagging grandmother in the English dub.
  • Rei has purple hair in the manga. If you're confused, check out colored manga
  • The most popular character in Japan is Sailor Mercury.
  • Sometimes in the transformation sequences (anime), you can see hidden images inside Sailor Moon's tiara!
  • OSA-P, the jewelry store owned by Naru's mother, is a play on Naoko's editor's name.
  • Shingo, Ikuko, and Kenji (members of Usagi's family), were names chosen based off of Naoko's family.
  • The series, Sailor Moon, is deeply rooted into Greek, Roman, and Chinese mythology.
  • Many villains' names are puns or play-offs from different stones / minerals; for example, Jadite, Saphir, Demand, Beryl.
  • Usagi doesn't like carrots, even though she's a "Rabbit".
  • Even in the Japanese version, the senshi say all of their attacks and transformation phrases in English.
  • In the anime, there is only one episode where it's just Sailor Moon and Mercury.
  • In one of the pilots for Sailor Moon, Toon Maker created a series where the senshi were mixed races, and Sailor Venus was in a wheel-chair! It's popularly known as "Saban Moon", and looked a lot like the ugly child of Power Rangers and Sailor Moon.
  • The senshi's birthdays correspond with their respective planets; for example, Usagi was born June 30th, a day influenced by the Moon under the symbol of the Crab.
  • In the manga, Sailor Uranus doesn't look like a senshi the first time she appears; in fact, she looks more like an alternate version of Tuxedo Kamen.
  • Gurio Umino's favorite ice-cream flavor is Vanilla with Prunes.
  • In Japanese, the character's names are written so that they read and sound exactly like Japanese phrases such as "Rabbit of the Moon" (Usagi). Although they are puns for the character's names, they do not literally translate into those exact phrases.
