When Aino Minako first appears in the Sailor Moon series, she is a very serious girl, focused on her duty to protect Usagi and act as a decoy princess. When Usagi loses Mamoru, Minako is very supportive of her, and even fixes her hair. As the series progresses, we also learn that Minako also has a very playful side, and the desire to have cute boyfriends. In the anime, Minako tends to go over-board with her boys obsession, but in the manga she is always true to her duty as a senshi, and her friendship with Usagi and the others. Minako is also very skilled in athletics, such as volleyball, and is also a talented songstress. Her singing abilities begets to her dream of becoming a famous star, but that dream, is not her true dream. She also has a very strong bond with her partner Artemis, who was the person who awakened her in the first place. Minako is a girl with passion, and love for her friends that goes unmatched.
The Original: Sailor V
The series Code Wa Sailor V features Aino Minako, who transforms into the incredible champion of justice: Sailor V! She is awakened by Artemis, who tells her that she is the reincarnation of the goddess of love and beauty. In her adventures as Sailor V, she fights against the Dark Agency led by Danburite, who was the reincarnation of Adonis. Because of his love for Princess Venus in the past, his warped love caused him to create the Dark Agency she was fighting against in order to become closer to her. Minako at this time had also developed a crush on Kaitou Ace, a TV star who was also, in fact, Danburite. However, Minako learns that it is her destiny to fail in love because of her duty and mission as a sailor senshi. Towards the end of the series, Minako realizes that her identity as Sailor V is only temporary, and she is destined to actually awaken on her true mission.
The Soldier: Sailor Venus; Super; Eternal
Sailor Venus is the leader of the inner senshi and is the first to awaken and regain her past memories. When she first appears, she acts as a decoy princess while Usagi is still in the process of her true awakening. Although Minako is a fun-loving person, as a Sailor Senshi she is very serious, and would do anything within her power to protect everyone. During the Infinity and Dead Arc, Sailor Venus is confronted with her personal dreams of becoming a famous star. Why waste her time doing silly things like being a sailor senshi? But through the love of her friends and with the help of her partner, Artemis, Sailor Venus always remembers her inner strength that shines through as the guardian of Venus, and her Moon Princess. In the Stars Arc, she and Sailor Mars investigate the Three Lights, and her love for Usagi is reinforced. She is a dedicated Senshi, who with love and experience, fights to the end.
The Past: Princess Venus
During the Silver Millennium, Princess Venus within the Magellan Castle on her home planet Venus. She was also the leader of the four guardians who were charged with protecting the Princess. She was a warrior, chosen by the planet Venus to be its guardian as a senshi. In one colored art picture by Naoko, she is depicted as having a relationship with Kunzite. Although they are not an official couple, in the last chapter of Codename: Sailor V, she is shown having a crush on Kunzite. Unfortunately, during the Dark Kingdom's attack on the moon, she was killed by Queen Metallia. Queen Serenity, the ruler of the Silver Millennium, used the last of her power to reincarnate the fallen Senshi into the future.
