The Shitennou: Nephrite

Nephrite is the General of the North American Division and the second general from the Dark Kingdom to appear. He is about 19 years of age, and acts overly proud of himself. He is also one of the four Shitennou, who had been turned against their original Master, Prince Endymion, and sold his soul to Queen Metallia and her evil devices. He is also not as loyal as the previous Shitennou, Jadeite. In a famous colored illustration by Naoko, he is coupled with Kino Makoto, otherwise known as Sailor Jupiter. Although Naoko had played with the idea and there are many speculations, Nephrite and Makoto are not an official couple, and there is little to no evidence to support this relationship except for fanon information and speculation. This general appears after Jadeite's death, and swears that he will revive his fallen comrade by obtaining this Silver Crystal. He is an intensely emotional character. In the manga, he is killed by Sailor Jupiter, ironically enough. Towards the end of the Dark Kingdom arc, he is revived and he recalls his memories of the Earth Kingdom, when he used to serve for Prince Endymion. But he had since been reverted to his "stone" form, and is kept by Chiba Mamoru.
